Lumina’s shows are performed at Silver Spring Black Box, 8641 Colesville Road, Silver Spring. It is located next to the AFI theatre. The performance location will always be noted at the ticket sale site www.Brownpapertickets.com

How do I purchase tickets?

Visit www.brownpapertickets.com; at the top of the page type in the play title and click search events. Be sure to know which color cast you want to see. (We have two casts per show, designated with a color.) All patrons, including children, must have a ticket to be admitted.

Where can I park?

There are two options for parking – both garages are operated by the County. The first is at the corner of Fenton Street and Roeder Road. The other is on Wayne Avenue between Georgia Avenue and Fenton Street.

Typically, how long are the performances?

Most Lumina productions run 2 – 2 ½ hours. The summer shows usually run 1 ½ hours

What should I wear to the theatre?

While Lumina does not have a dress code, we suggest something between a tuxedo and hole-ridden jeans. Shirt & shoes are required.

How do I get on the ticket wait-list?

Lumina shows generally sell out quickly. On-line ticket sales end 12 hour prior to curtain time. If you are not able to get tickets on-line, please arrive at the theatre 45 minutes prior to curtain time to purchase tickets or get on the waiting list. Lumina’s front-of-house volunteers will do everything they can to get you into the show.

Do I get a refund if I don’t use my ticket?

Unfortunately, no. Lumina gratefully accepts donations of unused tickets for patrons on the wait list.

How does my child get involved?

Check the website calendar! Registrations for the Fall show begin in April and May and Spring show registration begins in November. Lumina rehearsal groups fill quickly, so pay particular attention to the ‘Open Registration’ dates.

What ages participate in Lumina productions?

Lumina’s Shakespeare productions are meant to be enjoyed by people of all ages; however, our Ensemble shows may contain more mature subjects. We also find that children under 5 may have a difficult time sitting still for an entire performance. The tickets site and Lumina mailings will note the age deemed appropriate for each production.

How do I get promotional information?

You may email office@luminastudio.org to be added to our mailing list.

May I take pictures during the performance?

For the safety of our actors, cameras and recording devices are not allowed in the theatre. Use of such devices may result in your being asked to leave without refund.
