A Broadway director with too little time, too little money, and too much excitement decides to stage the grandest play he has ever produced with colorful characters from stock westerns and how their story captures the essence of the American dream. (It doesn’t QUITE turn out that way!) Combining the best of the cowboy/girl culture and theatre madness, WEST! is sure to become a Lumina classic. Don’t miss being a part of this exciting premiere! SURREAL THEATRE
Back by popular demand David Minton’s earliest SURREAL PLAYS, plus some new plays that are sure to get your acting edge sharpened! Wonderful dialog, choreography and songs will surely keep all the Surreal actors busy each day. Theatre games, improv, perfecting their acting techniques will all lead up to fabulous performances at Round House Theatre, Silver Spring.

FOLK TALE THEATRE
Lumina’s youngest actors have fun exploring a Folk Tale and turning it into a special performance. Actors receive direction for stage presence, vocal techniques and character development. Actors use their imagination to help create costumes, props or sets. Each day includes theatre games, art activities, outside play (weather permitting) and rehearsals. A performance for family and friends in the Lumina Black Box concludes the session.

PLAYERS’ THEATRE
FULL
The Shoes of Destiny is the first in the series of The Amazing Apparel Trilogy. Tis revival of the first in a trio of original plays by David Minton written specifically for Lumina actors. Actors learn vocal techniques, work on character development, line memorizaiton tips and choreography. Each day time is spent playing theatre games, rehearsing, lunching outdoors at a local playground (weather permitting) and honing their acting skills.
