Lumina Studio Theatre is a humanist educational institution believing in both the wealth of our collective cultures to guide us as well as the sometimes hidden potential in each individual to be highly creative. We nurture young actors by challenging them to work hard to discover their individual potential. Lumina believes each actor is special with unique gifts to be explored, developed, and refined. Lumina encourages fun through the satisfaction of giving one's personal best, encountering new ideas (and sometimes new ideas are classical) and employing those ideas in all spheres of activity. For some this will be the confidence of clear expression; for others, ease in moving from the theatre tradition of one culture to another; for still others it will be the mastery of proven theatre techniques in their development as performing artists. Everyone has value. Everyone with commitment learns to act and gets to perform.
