The Players

PLAYERS IS FULL. Email us at office@luminastudio.org to be placed on the waitlist. REGISTER FOR LUMINA’S FALL 2026 MAINSTAGE SHOW, THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF WINDSOR.  The Players will meet at the Silver Spring Black Box (8641 Colesville Rd) on Wednesdays OR Thursdays from 4:30-6:00pm, depending on which of the 2 casts they are assigned to (Wednesday: Gold, Thursday: Plum). Mark your weekday requirements on the form, and you will receive an email with your cast assignment and more details. Rehearsals begin on September 2 & 3, 2026. Performances take place at the Silver Spring Black Box the weekends of December 5-6 & 10-12, 2026.

All dress rehearsals and performance dates are mandatory – please check the WEBSITE CALENDAR to make sure your young actor is available before registering. All tech rehearsals and performances are in December and are marked as “TECH REHEARSAL” or “PERFORMANCE” on the Calendar.

Lumina’s youngest actors begin their exciting theatre experience as Players. They work with speech creatively, learn to develop basic characters, and practice the fundamentals of acting. Actors develop their verbal fluency in classic theatre using the techniques developed by Rudolph Steiner, and are given instruction in verbal and physical theatre styles and techniques. Players rehearse weekly with their age group, attend occasional weekend rehearsals with the Classics and Guild, and perform in the mainstage production as a cohesive, multi-age cast. All Players have speaking roles in the production and are expected to memorize and practice lines and execute basic stage directions.
